To meet the community needs, the City of Wood River applied for a CDBG Public Works Grant to continue redevelopment of the Legacy Station. This facility will now house the Senior Center, Library and Food Pantry, alongside the existing Stick Creek Kids Child Care Center.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Covid Funding to support Aurora Boardworks manufacturing business. Downtown Revitalization (DTR) underway.
New 5-Plex built for Bertrand Housing Authoriity utilizing the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHTF) grant. Partnered with Community 4 Kids (C4K) to expand child care services.
Completed a Community Needs Assesment Survey to prioritize needs. Eight-year commitment to Nuisance Abatement realizing significant community progress.
NIFA ComprehensiveHousing Study and Commuity Needs Assessment Survey completed. Continues to invest in houwing through Rural Workforce Housing Grant.
Ongoing Nebraska Environmental Trust initiative to address vacant dilapidated homes. Recieved NAHTF funding for creattion of upper story housing units. City Park improvements funded through Rural Community Recovery Program.
Supoorting business growth and expansion for Western Reserve. Substance abuse facility, Revive, Inc., funded through CDBG Public Works Infrastructure grant.
Continued housing development and rehabilitation through Rural Work Force Housing (RWFH) funding.
Continued Nuisance Abatement program to invest in community revitilization. NIFA Comprehensive Housing Study and Commuity Needs Assessment Survey completed.
Awarded Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund to convert vacant downtown building for upper story living. Workforce housing solutions discussed with employers on ongoing needs.
CDBG for Tourism Development awarded to enhance public spaces in the renovated Hotel Garber. Completed Community Needs Assessment Survey which reinforces continuation of the Nuisance Abatement Program.
Received funidn for park improvements and upgrades to community amenities through Rural Community Recovery Program.
